Our Governing Body

The Brent Primary School is part of Cygnus Academies Trust, and all formal governance is carried out by the Trust Board, which is the legal accountable body for every school within the Trust.
This means that The Brent does not have a Local Governing Committee (LGC).
This governance model was introduced from September 2025 to strengthen clarity, consistency and accountability across the Trust.

Trustees

Trustees are ultimately responsible and accountable for the trust. It is up to them to make sure the trust is compliant with it's charitable objectives, but also with company and charity law.

Elizabeth Alamu

Elizabeth Alamu currently works as a senior estates manager within healthcare with many years of experience managing health, safety and facilities across local authority, education and healthcare. Elizabeth was the vice chair of the local governing body for Dartford Bridge Community Primary School where she was a governor for over 10 years.

Elizabeth has witnessed the school transition through various phases as the link governor for SEND, as well as health and safety.

Elizabeth has recently been appointed a Trustee after the reorganisation of the local governing bodies across trust schools.
